Plankton Light Reactor PRO

Description

The Plankton Light Reactor PRO from Aqua Medic is a 50 L plankton culture reactor designed to reproduce a natural food chain. Microalgae are cultivated using light, suitable fertilizer, and the CO₂ content of the air to directly feed filtering animals or produce zooplankton.

Its integrated 50 W LED lighting (≈ 6,200 K) ensures a high reproduction rate — biomass can quadruple in 24 hours if nutrients are sufficient. It features an air intake and an adjustment valve to regulate the flow, as well as a partial extraction hose with a valve for easy removal of the produced plankton.

Compatible with phytoplankton and zooplankton from freshwater or saltwater. For aeration, we recommend the Mistral 2000 II air pump or a more powerful model.
