Surgeonfish

The surgeonfish belong to the family Acanthuridae. They are called "surgeons" due to the "scalpels" that allow them to defend themselves against predators. Each surgeonfish grazes on the algae in aquariums. Thanks to their bright colors, surgeonfish are very popular in aquariums.
