Operating Principles

• Porous bio-ceramics: supports (balls, rings, disks) offering an extensive surface for nitrifying and denitrifying bacterial colonization.
• Ceramic decors: sculpted or natural elements imitating rock, stabilizing the decor structure while being chemically inert.
• Mechanical filtration: fine mesh filtering ceramics to retain particles and facilitate circulation around the support.

Usage Recommendations

• Rinse with osmosis water before use to remove dust and fine particles.
• Place 1–2 kg of porous ceramics per 100 L of volume in a reactor or filtration basket to ensure optimal contact.
• Complement with decorative ceramic decors to create hiding spots and enhance aesthetics while maintaining a volume of biological support.
• Gently clean every 6–12 months in tank water during maintenance to preserve bacterial populations without disrupting the cycle.
• Combine with moderate circulation (5–10 x the hourly volume) to optimize water/support exchange and maximize biological efficiency.
