Nassarius pullus is a reef snail of very small size (about 5 mm), perfectly suited for the inaccessible corners of your aquarium's sand. Its burrowing behavior promotes substrate oxygenation and stimulates the proliferation of beneficial bacteria.
Like its cousin, the Nassarius vibex, this small marine snail is an excellent detritivore. It spends its days buried in the sand, emerging to the surface when it detects a food source. Thanks to its tiny size, it slips into places where other snails cannot go, thus cleaning the smallest corners of the aquarium.
To encourage the reproduction of Nassarius pullus, it is advisable to form a group of at least 5 individuals and occasionally feed them with thawed shelled cooked shrimp. This small snail is perfectly harmless and very useful for maintaining a living substrate.
After transport, it is common for Nassarius pullus to simulate death by letting its foot protrude from the shell, often upside down. This posture is a common defense mechanism. If no movement is observed after 48 hours, contact us. Ensure that no predators (shrimp, fire worm…) disturb it during this adaptation period.
With Nassarius pullus, optimize the maintenance of your substrate and encourage the development of microfauna in your reef aquarium, even in the narrowest areas.
