Pseudochromis fridmani – Royal Dottyback from French Breeding RecifAtHome
Pseudochromis fridmani, also known as the royal dottyback, is a distinctive reef fish with an entirely purple elongated body. It features a thin dark line crossing its eyes, enhancing its lively and curious gaze. This fish, as beautiful as it is robust, is ideal for reef aquariums starting from 200 liters that are well arranged.
A territorial and discreet fish
This dottyback loves to live in crevices, caves, and rocky nooks. It is recommended to provide it with numerous hiding places so it feels safe and can express its natural behavior. It can live alone or as a pair formed in larger tanks, but it can become aggressive with its own kind or other similar small fish.
French Breeding RecifAtHome
This Pseudochromis fridmani comes from our French breeding facility RAH (RecifAtHome). Our fish are entirely bred in captivity and are accustomed to inert food. They are fed with pellets and frozen artemia, ensuring a quick adaptation in aquariums.
Due to being raised in grow-out tanks with a large number of individuals (up to 300), their fins may sometimes show slight traces of rubbing or skirmishes, without affecting their health or behavior.
Maintenance Conditions
- Minimum recommended volume: 200 liters
- Temperature: 24°C to 26°C
- pH: 8.0 to 8.4
- Decor: rocks, caves, caverns, shaded areas
- Moderate water flow, subdued lighting in resting areas
