Our specimens are bred in captivity and perfectly acclimated to life in a reef aquarium. They easily accept frozen brine shrimp and suitable pellets, unlike wild individuals, which are often dependent on live microfauna.
Controlled acclimation, facilitated maintenance
Thanks to rigorous selection and gradual feeding, our mandarin fish are robust, stable, and well-nourished. This adaptation ensures easier integration into a reef tank, even for experienced aquarists who wish to balance ethics, beauty, and successful maintenance.
Maintenance conditions
- Recommended volume: minimum 100 liters (150 L+ recommended for a pair)
- Sandy substrate and plenty of rocky hiding places
- Temperature: 24°C to 26°C
- pH: 8.1 to 8.4
- Mature tank recommended, even if microfauna is no longer essential
Feeding
- Enriched frozen brine shrimp
- Finely chopped plankton and mysis
- Marine pellets suited to their small mouth
This fish is slow to feed, so it is essential to ensure targeted or repeated distribution in calm areas of the aquarium.
