Cryptocentrus cinctus yellow goby for reef aquarium
The Cryptocentrus cinctus is an iconic marine aquarium goby, appreciated for its bright yellow color and fascinating symbiotic behavior with Alpheus shrimp.
When kept in a group, Cryptocentrus cinctus may turn gray due to the presence of many conspecifics, but it generally regains its yellow-green coloration once kept alone or as a pair.
Main characteristics
Adult size: about 8 cm. Recommended volume: minimum 100 L.
Temperature: 24 to 26 °C. Specific gravity: 1.023 to 1.025.
Type: benthic fish living close to the sandy substrate.
Compatibility: ideal in a reef aquarium with invertebrates.
Advantages and use
This goby is particularly sought after for its natural burrowing behavior and its coexistence with symbiotic shrimp. It helps animate the lower part of the aquarium while remaining peaceful with the other inhabitants.
Behavior and care
A calm species, sometimes territorial with its own kind. It enjoys sandy areas for digging burrows. An aquarium cover is recommended as it may jump.

Super
Invisible les 15 premiers jours, il a fini par sortir et occupe bien sa place maintenant. Il a un joli jaune beaucoup plus soutenu et flashy que sur la photo du site. Goulu, il accepte les proies congelées comme les granulés sans soucis. Il s'est tout de suite associé à une Alpheus que j'ai reçu plusieurs mois après l'introduction de mon gobie mais reste beaucoup moins craintif qu'elle. Bref, aucun souci et super joli.
