Calcinus tibicen is a robust and dynamic hermit crab, perfect for complementing the cleaning crew of a reef aquarium. Very active, it roams the rocks in search of food without ever damaging the corals, even when climbing on them to explore.
A useful and easy-to-maintain omnivore
This hermit crab feeds on microalgae, filamentous algae, and food scraps. It helps to maintain the cleanliness of the aquarium by reducing organic waste while ensuring constant activity on the substrate and rocky decor.
Behavior and compatibility
Calcinus tibicen is peaceful towards other invertebrates and fish. It is essential to provide it with empty shells suitable for its size, as it naturally changes shells as it grows. It can coexist without problems with corals, snails, and various detritivores.
