Cypraea annulus, also known as the porcelain snail or money cowry, is a marine gastropod native to the Indo-Pacific Ocean. This small snail is renowned for its shiny white shell marked with a yellow ring, giving it a simple yet elegant appearance.
A Peaceful Cleaner for Reef Aquariums
The Cypraea annulus is an excellent algae grazer. It spends its days cleaning the glass, rocks, and calm areas of the tank, helping to naturally limit algae growth. With a very peaceful temperament, it is completely harmless to fish, corals, and other invertebrates.
Handle with Care
During acclimation or relocation, it is crucial to never remove it from the water with the slit facing down. This could trap an air bubble in its shell, causing its death. It should always be handled with the slit facing up.
Compatibility
The Cypraea annulus coexists perfectly with most reef species, but it is strongly advised not to keep it with hermit crabs, which could attack its shell and consume it.

Cyprea annulus
Arrivé en pleine forme ! Escargot très sympathique à observer. Il ce recouvre de sa chair laissant apparaitre comme des polypes d'acropora. Fascinant ! J'aurai dû en prendre deux de plus. Ne boss pas énormément, c'est à prendre en compte.
