An Active and Useful Burrowing Snail
Strombus luhuanus spends most of its time on or in the sand, where it contributes to substrate aeration and the elimination of micro-debris. It thus acts as an effective detritivore and supports the healthy development of microfauna in the upper layers of the sand.
