CalReact 220 Octo – Calcium Reactor for Reef Aquarium 1400 to 2100 L with VarioS 6 Pump
The CalReact 220 Octo is a calcium reactor designed for automated calcium and alkalinity supplementation. It operates with a chamber filled with aragonite, through which aquarium water and CO2 pass to lower the internal pH and dissolve carbonate minerals. The system includes CO2 recirculation and a bubble counter to monitor the CO2 drip rate.

An Ideal Solution for a Demanding Reef Aquarium
The CalReact 220 Octo features a high-quality molded acrylic body, a pH probe holder for constant pH monitoring with a separately sold probe, and an integrated bubble counter for CO2 flow calculation. The reverse water flow allows for CO2 recirculation to maximize contact time with the media.
The VarioS DC pump includes an impeller, a removable controller, as well as a ceramic shaft and bearing, with variable speed flow technology for refined control, energy efficiency, and safer operations (operating voltage 24 V).
Note: the pump is not a pressure-rated pump and is not intended for applications requiring constant pressure.
How It Works
A calcium reactor is a chamber filled with aragonite. Aquarium water circulates in the chamber with CO2. The CO2 lowers the chamber's pH to an acidic level, which dissolves the carbonate minerals. This process also dissolves minerals and trace elements associated with the media.
Automated calcium and alkalinity supplementation: when the system is properly configured with an external controller and probe (sold separately), parameters can be preset with minimal monitoring and maintenance.
Warranty
2 years for the pump motor only. 1 year on the reactor body.
