PKO Easy Reefs is a phosphate controller designed to eliminate the bioavailability of phosphate in freshwater and marine aquariums. It acts directly in the water column and in sediments to sustainably limit the availability of phosphorus.
Product Type: Ionically modified bentonite.
Action: Control and immobilization of phosphate.
Compatibility: Freshwater and marine aquariums.
Packaging: 250 g.

Reverse Osmosis
PKO is ionically modified bentonite designed to react with phosphate present in the water. This chemical reaction leads to the formation of a new insoluble element, preventing phosphate from returning to the water column.
The elimination of phosphate bioavailability in the water column generally occurs within three hours of applying the suspension.
Once deposited in the sediment, bentonite continues to bind to interstitial phosphate released by the substrate until complete saturation. After saturation, no further binding occurs.
PKO is an inert element that generates no ecotoxicity in the aquarium. It is not an algaecide and its action is strictly limited to the immobilization of phosphate.
One kilogram of PKO can eliminate more than 30 g of PO4, corresponding to approximately 0.34 ppm per gram of phosphate.
Dosages can vary significantly depending on several parameters, including the concentration of phosphate present in the water column, the amount of phosphate bound to sediments, as well as any external source of phosphorus continuing to enter the system.
PKO can be used with a dosing pump by dispersing it in a 1:4 ratio with reverse osmosis water, allowing for controlled and gradual application in the system.
