Scarus quoyi, known as the ray-finned fish, is a splendid reef fish from the Labridae family. This specimen is distinguished by its oval, robust morphology, and especially by its unique coloration that evolves throughout its life. Young individuals display more subdued hues, while adults exhibit a bright blue enhanced with green, pink, or purple patterns depending on the specimen.
This remarkable color change is a characteristic specific to the Scarus quoyi species, making it a visual asset of choice in any large marine aquarium. Their constantly evolving appearance delights aquarists wishing to observe impressive natural development.
Scarus quoyi is a peaceful species, although large in size. It generally cohabits well with other reef fish, provided there is enough space to swim and a rich decor. Very active during the day, they spend their time grazing on algae on live rocks.

Omnivorous with a strong herbivorous tendency, Scarus quoyi mainly feeds on algae present on live rocks. It also accepts:
A varied diet promotes vibrant colors and balanced behavior.
Scarus quoyi is both a majestic and useful fish, combining beauty, utility, and dynamism in your marine aquarium.
