Native to the Indo-Pacific, the Cetoscarus bicolor is a robust species that requires a very large reef aquarium. It is best to provide it with a space of at least 800 liters with large free swimming areas and a decor rich in rocks. It actively contributes to sand stirring and ecosystem balance by feeding on microalgae and biofilms present on hard surfaces.
Generally peaceful in nature, this fish can become territorial once adult. It should be kept alone or in pairs, avoiding cohabitation with other parrotfish. Its behavior is compatible with robust invertebrates, but it is not recommended in tanks with fragile corals, as it may nibble on calcareous substrates.
