MatrixCarbon is a unique activated carbon, shaped into spherical beads to offer optimal hydrodynamics. This shape prevents compaction and water channeling, ensuring maximum contact between water and the macroporous adsorption sites.
Its macroporous structure is specifically designed for the removal of large organic molecules, such as nitrogenous waste, while limiting the removal of trace elements.
High-capacity spherical activated carbon.
Optimal hydrodynamics without compaction.
Very low ash content.
Minimal impact on pH.
Lowest leachable phosphate on the market.
Extended usage duration.
MatrixCarbon has an extremely low ash content, which significantly limits its impact on pH. Even in distilled water, it does not raise the pH above 7.0.
Although all carbons inherently contain phosphate, MatrixCarbon has the lowest detectable phosphate release among the major brands tested, thanks to an optimized acid wash that removes a maximum amount of ash.
250 ml treats approximately 400 liters of water for several months.
Use in a suitable filter bag.
Rinse before use.
Place the media in a high-flow area for optimal efficiency.
MatrixCarbon can be used in canister filters, chemical filtration modules, box filters, or high-flow areas of trickle filters. It is suitable for reef, marine, and freshwater aquariums.
Depending on the organic load of the tank, the usage duration generally ranges from 3 to 6 months. In heavily loaded water, depletion may occur more quickly.
