The species Phymanthus crucifer belongs to the Phymanthidae family. Feeding once every 2 days is recommended with prey such as rotifers and brine shrimp nauplii of a size <0.5cm, for example. Recommended for experienced aquarists. Propagating Phymanthus crucifer is impossible or very difficult. Light: medium to low with a spectrum of around 18,000 to 20,000 K. Aggressiveness: medium. Current: low. Water quality: we recommend a nitrate NO3- level above 10mg/liter. Also, a phosphate PO4 level between 0.01 and 0.05mg/l. Of course, Calcium (400-440mg/l), Magnesium (1250-1350mg/l), and KH (7.5 to 9°All) should be at the proper levels. In conclusion, Phymanthus crucifer are less easy to maintain than other anemones unless you light them moderately to lightly and keep water flow minimal, provided the parameters are good. This anemone can be occupied by various invertebrates such as shrimp (Periclimenes) and most clownfish.
