The controller also displays the selected power level as well as the instant electrical consumption in watts, making it easier to adjust and monitor pump operation.

A dedicated button on the controller allows you to activate a 10-minute pause. This function is especially useful for temporarily stopping the return flow during fish feeding so that a significant portion of the food is not immediately carried into the filtration system.

The pump then restarts automatically or can be switched back on manually before the pause ends.

Integrated electronic protections

The Blue Marine Eco Power 4000 includes various electronic safety features designed to protect the pump and its motor. The controller can detect dry running, rotor or motor blockage, voltage anomalies, or a connection issue.

In the event of prolonged dry running, the dedicated protection stops the pump to reduce the risk of damage.

Installing the Eco Power 4000

The pump outlet must be connected to the return line using a suitable hose. The pump must be fully submerged before being switched on.

The controller, on the other hand, must remain outside the water and be installed in a location protected from splashes and moisture. It is not waterproof.

After installation, it is recommended to start with a moderate flow and then gradually increase the power to adapt circulation to the operation of the drain, sump, and filtration system.

Maintaining the Blue Marine return pump

Regular cleaning helps preserve the pump’s performance and quiet operation. Blue Marine recommends cleaning approximately once a month, depending on how much the system becomes fouled.

During maintenance, the rotor, shaft, internal chamber, magnet surfaces, and the various water passages should be cleared of deposits that could reduce flow or cause vibrations.
