SEACHEM
Disinfectant for corals in a bath.
Elemental iodine complex.
For prophylactic use or in cases of weakened corals.
Compatible with hard corals and soft corals.
Indicated as safe for anemones and polyps.
Do not use directly in the aquarium.
Reef Dip provides a viscous protective layer that covers the coral and allows the iodine to remain in contact with the affected area longer. This barrier is also described as limiting the recolonization of the site by infectious agents.
100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml.
Do not use in the aquarium.
Use in a separate container.
Take 4 L of source aquarium water into a suitable container.
Add 5 to 10 ml of Reef Dip and mix.
Place the coral in the bath for 15 to 30 minutes depending on the severity of the problem.
In very severe cases, a double dose can be used.
In the presence of visible and accessible lesions, the concentrate can be applied locally before the bath.
Observe the coral during treatment for any adverse effects, such as excessive thinning of the tissues.
Do not use Reef Dip with crabs or shrimp associated with corals, for example, on acropora. They must be removed or dislodged before the bath.
The product is primarily intended for bacterial or protozoan issues. It is not described as an effective solution against hydroids when soaking live rocks, corals, or macroalgae.
Reef Dip is intended for corals and anemones. It is not recommended for Tridacna clams. A very diluted use can be considered at your own risk if the clam is sick, but this is not standard practice.
