SEACHEM
Coral disinfectant (bath).
Elemental iodine complex.
Prophylactic or curative use.
Compatible with hard corals and soft corals.
Indicated as safe for anemones and polyps.
Do not use in the aquarium.
The product provides a protective "coat" that covers the coral, keeping the iodine in contact with the affected area longer. This slimy layer is also described as helping to prevent re-infection of the area.
100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml.
Do not use in the aquarium. Use in a separate container.
Draw 4 L of water from the source aquarium into a suitable container.
Add 5 to 10 ml of Reef Dip (1 to 2 caps) and mix.
Place the coral in the bath for 15 to 30 minutes depending on the severity of the issue.
In very severe cases, a double dose may be used.
In the presence of clear and accessible lesions, the concentrate may be applied to the lesion before the bath.
Observe during treatment for any adverse effects, such as excessive thinning.
Do not dip a coral with its associated crabs or shrimp (example given: acropora with crab/shrimp). Remove or dislodge them before the bath.
The product is presented as primarily intended for bacterial and protozoan infections. It is not described as an effective solution for treating hydroid issues via soaking live rocks, corals, and macroalgae.
Reef Dip is intended for corals and anemones. It is not recommended for Tridacna clams. Very diluted use may be attempted at your own risk if the clam is sick, but this is not a recommended practice.
