Cupramine is a copper treatment complexed with an amine, formulated to effectively eliminate many fish ectoparasites while exhibiting reduced toxicity compared to traditional forms of copper.
Active copper treatment at low concentration.
Complexed with amine, less toxic for fish.
Does not precipitate and remains in solution.
100% removable by activated carbon or CupriSorb.
Compatible with freshwater and saltwater.
Cupramine is indicated for the treatment of the following external parasites:
Ichthyophthirius (Ich, freshwater).
Cryptocaryon (marine white spot).
Piscinoodinium and Amyloodinium (velvet).
Oodinium and other ectoparasites.
Unlike copper sulfates, chlorides, or citrates, Cupramine is non-acidic, does not contaminate the filter substrate, and remains active at low concentration. In contrast to chelated coppers, it is fully ionic, biologically active, and easily removable.
The minimum therapeutic concentration is 0.2 mg/L, with a target concentration of 0.5 mg/L in saltwater and 0.25 mg/L in freshwater. Toxicity appears starting at 0.8 mg/L, providing a significant safety margin when used according to recommendations.
Be sure to remove all invertebrates, as they are extremely sensitive to copper. Disable UV sterilizers, ozone, and remove all chemical filtration. Do not use in conjunction with other medications or products containing reducing agents.
Maintain the target concentration for a full 14 days, even if visible symptoms disappear earlier. Parasites spend part of their cycle as cysts that are insensitive to treatment.
Copper concentration monitoring should be conducted with a compatible test, such as MultiTest Copper.
Cupramine can be removed by activated carbon or CupriSorb. Leave the absorbent media in place for at least one week after returning to a zero concentration to ensure complete removal.
Cupramine is not compatible with reef aquariums. It should never be used with products containing formalin or reducing agents, nor with overdoses of water conditioners.
50 ml bottle.
Cupramine is a reference treatment for the controlled management of external parasites in fish, to be used exclusively in quarantine or hospital tanks.
