GROTECH Carbonat Pro Instant – carbonate hardness and pH buffer for reef aquariums

GROTECH Carbonat Pro Instant increases carbonate hardness and acts as a pH buffer to stabilize the pH value in marine aquariums. It helps replace the carbonate hardness lost through precipitation or consumed by biological processes and contributes to protecting the aquarium from dangerous pH fluctuations.

Role in the reef aquarium

In marine aquariums, pH stability is crucial. Carbonat Pro Instant helps maintain the pH within a range of 8.0 to 8.3. In reef aquariums, the optimal carbonate hardness value is around 10 °dKH.

Main features

Preparation of the Balling solution

For the preparation of a basic Balling solution, dissolve 84 g of Carbonat Pro Instant in 1000 ml of RO water.

The Balling solutions of carbonates, calcium, magnesium, and Mineral Pro Instant should be dosed in equal parts and added separately from each other.

Preparation of the stock solution

Dissolve 168 g of Carbonat Pro Instant in 2000 ml of RO water.

Adding 36 ml of stock solution increases the carbonate hardness by about 1 °dKH for 100 L of aquarium water.

Direct dosing

One dosing spoon of approximately 9 g results in an increase in carbonate hardness of about 3 °dKH for 100 L of water.

In case of significant deficiency, the amount should be gradually increased over several days. Pour directly into the filtration tank in a well-agitated area.
