Ideal Conditions for Optimal Growth
Lighting and Water Flow
To ensure balanced growth and beautiful polyp expansion, moderate lighting is recommended, with an intensity of about 100-200 PAR. Moderate water flow is necessary to prevent sediment accumulation and ensure good oxygenation.
Water Parameters
Like all LPS corals, Pavona irritans requires stable and well-balanced water:
- Temperature: 24-26°C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0 - 8.4
- KH: 7-9 dKH
- Calcium: 400-450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
- Nitrates: between 2 and 10 mg/L for optimal coloration
- Phosphates: between 0.02 and 0.08 mg/L
