Ideal Conditions for Optimal Development
Lighting and Water Flow
To ensure a vibrant color and even growth, moderate to strong lighting is recommended, with an intensity around 150-200 PAR. Medium water flow is necessary to ensure optimal oxygenation and to prevent sediment accumulation between its leaf structures.
Water Parameters
Like all LPS corals, the Green Pavona Cactus requires stable and well-balanced water:
- Temperature: 24-26°C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0 - 8.4
- KH: 7-9 dKH
- Calcium: 400-450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
- Nitrates: between 2 and 10 mg/L for optimal coloration
- Phosphates: between 0.02 and 0.08 mg/L
