This Pocillopora Gold Insane is appreciated for its fast growth and its ability to adapt to various reef environments. It develops by forming a compact and branched structure, ideal for structuring an aquarium and providing shelters for fish and invertebrates.
Ideal Conditions for an Intense Golden Color
Lighting and Water Flow
To preserve the brilliance of its golden hue and stimulate its growth, moderate to strong lighting is recommended, with an intensity of 200-300 PAR. Medium to strong water flow is necessary to ensure optimal oxygenation and prevent sediment buildup between its branches.
Water Parameters
Like all SPS corals, the Pocillopora Gold Insane requires stable and well-balanced water:
- Temperature: 24-26°C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0 - 8.4
- KH: 7-9 dKH
- Calcium: 400-450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
- Nitrates: between 2 and 10 mg/L for optimal coloration
- Phosphates: between 0.02 and 0.08 mg/L
