Lighting and Water Flow
To maintain its vibrant hues and promote even growth, moderate to strong lighting is recommended, with an intensity around 150-200 PAR. Medium water flow is essential to prevent sediment accumulation on its large surfaces and ensure optimal oxygenation.
Water Parameters
Like all SPS corals, the Green/Yellow Plate Montipora requires stable and well-balanced water:
- Temperature: 24-26°C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0 - 8.4
- KH: 7-10 dKH
- Calcium: 400-450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
- Nitrates: between 2 and 10 mg/L for optimal coloration
- Phosphates: between 0.02 and 0.08 mg/L
