Ideal Conditions for Optimal Coloring
Lighting and Water Flow
To maximize color intensity and promote healthy growth, moderate to strong lighting is recommended, with an intensity around 200-300 PAR. Medium to strong water flow is necessary to oxygenate the coral's tissues and prevent sediment accumulation between its compact branches.
Water Parameters
Like all SPS corals, the Pocillopora Tri-Color Ultra requires stable and well-balanced water:
- Temperature: 24-26°C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0 - 8.4
- KH: 7-9 dKH
- Calcium: 400-450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
- Nitrates: between 2 and 10 mg/L for optimal coloring
- Phosphates: between 0.02 and 0.08 mg/L
