This Pocillopora damicornis is known for its resilience and adaptation to well-established reef aquariums. It tolerates slight variations in water parameters, making it a perfect choice for both beginner and experienced reef aquarists.
Ideal conditions for optimal development
Lighting and water movement
To maintain its ultra-green glow and promote even growth, moderate to strong lighting is recommended, with an intensity around 200-300 PAR. Medium to strong water movement is essential to oxygenate the coral's tissues and prevent sediment accumulation on its fine branches.
Water parameters
Like all SPS corals, the Pocillopora damicornis Ultra Green requires stable and well-balanced water:
- Temperature: 24-26°C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0 - 8.4
- KH: 7-9 dKH
- Calcium: 400-450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
- Nitrates: between 2 and 10 mg/L for optimal coloration
- Phosphates: between 0.02 and 0.08 mg/L
