The calcium reactor OCTO CalReact 140 is a supplementation solution designed for reef aquariums of 400 to 800 liters. It combines a reverse flow design with CO2 recirculation, a precision effluent valve, and a variable speed DC VarioS pump for quiet and energy-efficient operation.

How It Works

A calcium reactor is a chamber filled with aragonite (natural carbonate). Aquarium water circulates in the chamber with CO2. The CO2 lowers the internal pH, which dissolves the carbonates and releases the elements into the effluent. This principle allows for automated supplementation of calcium and alkalinity when properly set up with an external controller and a pH probe (sold separately).

VarioS DC Pump

The CalReact 140 is powered by a VarioS DC pump with a removable controller, ceramic shaft and bearings, and variable speed setting. The pump operates at 24 V DC.

Note: The pump is not a pressure-rated pump. It is not intended for setups requiring constant pressure.
