Roller Clean RC4 – Replacement of 4-inch Filter Socks

The Roller Clean RC4 is installed in place of standard 4-inch filter socks. It provides continuous mechanical filtration without the need for manual cleaning, thereby reducing the maintenance of the filtration system.

Automatic Operation

Water passes through the filter fabric by gravity. Particles and impurities are mechanically retained by the fabric.

When the filter fabric becomes clogged, the water level rises and activates a level sensor. The controller then triggers the motor that winds the dirty part of the fabric and automatically positions a clean area under the water flow. Once the level drops, the motor stops.

Roll Replacement

The system consists of a fixed receptacle and a removable cassette containing the filter fabric roll. The roll is replaced without tools, simply by removing the cassette.

Adjustments and Safety

The position of the level sensor allows adjusting the frequency of the filter fabric winding. An integrated bypass window allows some water to pass without mechanical filtration to prevent water from becoming too nutrient-poor.

The controller includes several safety features as well as a system of indicator lights showing the operational status.

Filter Fabric

The filter fabric is compatible with both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. It retains particles responsible for increasing nitrates and phosphates while allowing salts and trace elements present in the water to pass through.

The operation of protein skimmers is not affected. The maximum allowable flow rate is 6000 liters per hour.
