Description

With this battery-operated substrate cleaner, cleaning the bottom of the aquarium can be done at any time, independent of water change intervals.

The suction power is calibrated to remove waste and sludge without excessively disturbing the substrate. Impurities are sucked up and then retained in an integrated filter container, while the clean water is immediately returned to the aquarium.

Removing and cleaning the filter element is simple and quick.

Why is the use of rechargeable batteries not recommended?

Rechargeable batteries have a nominal voltage of 1.2 V, compared to 1.5 V for standard batteries. The EHEIM gravel vacuum is not specifically designed to work with rechargeable batteries, resulting in reduced motor power.

When using rechargeable batteries, the total voltage is lower, leading to a slower motor speed and making substrate cleaning significantly less effective and longer.

Additionally, rechargeable batteries often experience significant self-discharge. Since the gravel vacuum is generally not used daily, it would be necessary to recharge the batteries before each use.

To ensure optimal performance and comfortable use, the use of standard batteries is recommended.
