The Centropyge flavipectoralis, also known as the Yellowfin Angelfish, is a small marine fish native to the Indian Ocean and the Western Pacific. This dwarf angelfish is distinguished by its dark brown body and its bright yellow pectoral fins that contrast elegantly.
The Centropyge flavipectoralis is generally peaceful, but can become territorial with its peers or with other dwarf angelfish, especially in small spaces. It is recommended to keep only one individual per aquarium, unless it is sufficiently spacious and well-arranged.
It enjoys reef aquariums with plenty of hiding spots among live rocks, where it spends most of its time exploring or resting.
This dwarf angelfish is omnivorous. It is important to provide it with a balanced diet consisting of enriched pellets, algae, brine shrimp, mysis, and small invertebrates. A well-fed fish will be less inclined to nibble on corals.
Thanks to its resilience and discretion, the Centropyge flavipectoralis is an excellent choice for aquarists looking for a sober, functional, and elegant fish for their reef tank.
