Native to the Indo-Pacific region, it thrives in coral reefs near rocks and natural hiding places.
This dwarf angelfish is particularly appreciated for its atypical beauty and resilience in reef aquariums. It is compatible with a large number of other species, provided the aquarium is spacious enough and well-decorated.
Care Conditions for Chaetodontoplus mesoleucus

This fish loves exploring complex setups. It is recommended to provide it with an environment enriched with live rocks, refuges, and caves. Coexisting with other dwarf angelfish is only possible in very large tanks.

The Chaetodontoplus mesoleucus is omnivorous, with a marked preference for a plant-based diet supplemented with meaty prey. A varied diet will help preserve its vibrant colors and health.
- Algae-enriched pellets, spirulina,
- Frozen brine shrimp, mysis, krill,
- Mussel or fish flesh,
- Regular supplement of fresh or dried algae.
It is advised to feed it two to three times a day, especially during the first weeks of acclimatization to prevent unwanted picking at corals.
