Pygoplites diacanthus Special Pattern – Captive-Bred Regal Angelfish by Bali Aquarich

Pygoplites diacanthus, better known as the regal angelfish, is an iconic species of coral reefs. In this Special Pattern version, each specimen displays unique and intensely contrasting patterns, making it a true living work of art. Its elongated body is adorned with bright yellow and electric blue vertical stripes, and sometimes an irregular pattern even rarer in captive-bred individuals.

An exclusive breeding by Bali Aquarich

This fish is bred in Indonesia by Bali Aquarich, a pioneer in tropical reef aquaculture. Thanks to mesocosm breeding, without wild capture, and a strict dietary transition protocol, these fish are acclimated for life in captivity:

  • 1 week of live copepods
  • Gradual introduction of frozen artemia
  • Acclimatization to premium marine pellets

A minimum of 15 days of acclimatization is conducted before each shipment, ensuring the health and stability of each individual.

Maintenance Conditions

  • Recommended minimum volume: 500 liters
  • Temperature: 24°C to 26°C
  • pH: 8.1 to 8.4
  • Decor: live rock, shaded areas, caves
  • Water flow: moderate to strong

The regal angelfish requires a large swimming space and plenty of hiding spots. It feels comfortable in a structured rocky decor, with a stable environment.

Behavior and Compatibility

This fish can be territorial with its conspecifics or other angelfish, especially in limited volumes. It is often compatible with other reef fish but may nip at corals if poorly fed or stressed. It is best kept in a well-populated reef aquarium or a decorative fish-only tank.

Feeding

  • Enriched marine pellets (spirulina, natural pigments)
  • Artemia, mysis, chopped krill
  • Vegetable supplements (nori, boiled spinach)

A varied and rich diet ensures the health and longevity of this exceptional fish.

Why choose Pygoplites diacanthus Special Pattern?

  • Unique and contrasting patterns
  • Iconic and rare captive-bred angelfish
  • Bred in mesocosm by Bali Aquarich, without wild capture
  • Acclimated to aquarium life, varied diet
  • Ideal for showcase or high-end reef aquariums

Pygoplites diacanthus Special Pattern is a living centerpiece for discerning aquarists. Thanks to the expertise of Bali Aquarich, you are adopting a rare, colorful fish ready to thrive in captivity under the best conditions.
