Centropyge bicolor, also known as the bicolor dwarf angelfish, is a highly recognizable species with its bright yellow coloration on the front of the body, contrasted by a deep blue area covering the rear of the body up to the tail. A thin blue stripe also crosses the eyes, further highlighting its vivacity and expressive gaze.
With its oval shape and slender body, this fish is designed to swim between rocks, in the lower or mid-level areas of the aquarium. It is not very territorial but can be somewhat aggressive towards other angelfish or conspecifics. It is best kept alone, in pairs, or in small groups in an appropriately sized tank.
It is incompatible with corals as it may nip at them, especially LPS and soft polyps. It is therefore recommended for fish-only tanks or those with mineral decor.
Centropyge bicolor is omnivorous with a tendency towards algae-eating. Its diet is rich and varied:
Important: our fish are raised in a mesocosm, meaning in semi-natural conditions. They are not accustomed to inert foods upon arrival. Therefore, we acclimate and feed them for 1 week before shipping to ensure their proper adaptation to a home aquarium.
Centropyge bicolor is an easy-to-maintain species for aquarists with a suitable tank. Thanks to our rigorous acclimatization protocol, you receive a healthy angelfish ready to thrive in its new environment.
