Red Cyano Rx is a treatment designed to quickly and effectively eliminate cyanobacteria present in saltwater aquariums.
It acts on pathogenic cyanobacteria settled on live rocks, live corals, and live sand without harming fish, invertebrates, or beneficial bacteria when used according to instructions.
Unlike some treatments, Red Cyano Rx does not color the aquarium water.
Before starting the treatment, it is recommended that the aquarium's pH be above 8.0.
Red Cyano Rx can cause a decrease in pH and affect alkalinity, so it is advised to monitor these parameters and use a buffer if necessary during treatment.
For best results, siphon as much cyanobacteria as possible before adding the product.
Stop using activated carbon, protein skimming, and ozone during the treatment period.
Do not dose the product when the lights are off.
Take a cup of water from the aquarium.
Mix one leveled scoop of Red Cyano Rx in this cup for every 10 gallons, or approximately 37.9 liters, of the actual aquarium volume.
Completely dissolve the powder, then pour the solution into the aquarium.
After 24 hours, perform a 25% water change.
After this water change, it is possible to reactivate the protein skimmer, as well as the use of activated carbon and ozone. Increased foam production by the skimmer may be observed.
If cyanobacteria are still present 48 hours after treatment, perform another 25% water change and repeat the dosage.
The ideal time to start the treatment is in the morning when the lights turn on and the pH begins to rise.
A 25% water change should be carried out after each dose.
Do not use Red Cyano Rx in the dark.
A package of Red Cyano Rx can treat up to approximately 1514 liters of aquarium water.
