Stenopus tenuirostris, also known as the purple-bellied boxer shrimp, is a territorial yet useful reef invertebrate. This omnivorous crustacean is ideal for well-structured reef aquariums, with plenty of hiding spots and observation areas.
This shrimp can live alone or in pairs, but avoid introducing two individuals of the same sex in a confined space. In case of conflict, one of the two could be eliminated. It can coexist with other invertebrates, provided it receives enough food to prevent any aggressive behavior.
