Apogon cyanosoma – Orange-lined Cardinalfish
Apogon cyanosoma, more commonly known as the orange-lined cardinalfish, is a small reef fish highly prized for its understated beauty and great adaptability in marine aquariums. It features a silvery blue body with six bright orange thin lines running from the head to the tail, creating a striking visual effect.
A calm fish ideal for reef aquariums
Native to the Indo-Pacific, the Apogon cyanosoma prefers to live in groups. With its peaceful and somewhat nocturnal temperament, it is perfect for community reef aquariums. It particularly likes shaded areas and rocky hiding places where it can rest safely.
Care conditions

- Temperature: between 24°C and 28°C
- pH: between 8.1 and 8.4

Behavior and compatibility
The orange-lined cardinalfish is a social animal. It is recommended to keep it in small groups of 4 to 6 individuals to reduce stress and encourage natural behaviors. Very peaceful, it coexists perfectly with corals, invertebrates, and non-aggressive fish.
