Amphiprion perideraion, also known as the Pink Skunk Clownfish, is an elegant and peaceful species, well-suited to life in a reef aquarium. It is recognizable by its elongated pink body crossed by a continuous white dorsal line, running from the head to the caudal fin, as well as two white bars on each side of the head, which give it its common name.
In the wild, this fish lives in symbiosis with the anemone Heteractis crispa. In an aquarium, it will be more serene in the presence of this anemone but can also be content with a Rhodactis or an Euphyllia, which it sometimes adopts as a substitute host.
Calm, territorial, and not very aggressive, the Amphiprion perideraion can be kept alone or in pairs. It mainly stays around its host, which it protects attentively. Its peaceful behavior makes it compatible with most reef fish and invertebrates.
Easy to feed, this fish quickly accepts inert food suitable for small omnivorous fish.
