The calcium reactors of the Deltec PF Series incorporate the best of Deltec technology in an optimized version for modern reef aquariums. Thanks to their fluidized technology, these reactors ensure maximum dissolution of the limestone media, minimizing maintenance and reducing the risk of clogging.
Unlike traditional reactors, the Deltec PF Mk5 reactors keep the media grains constantly in motion, continuously exposing their entire surface to CO₂-enriched acidic water. This process avoids the formation of preferential channels and ensures uniform dissolution of calcium and KH in the aquarium.
The fine particles resulting from the dissolution are naturally expelled with the water flow, preventing any internal accumulation. Therefore, it is not necessary to completely empty the reactor: simply recharge the media as needed.
The PF 90, PF 110, PF 140, PF 180, PF 1001, and PF 1370 models accept both fine-grain fluidized media and coarser substrates (such as coral gravel). This flexibility makes them suitable for a wide range of reef configurations.
To operate, these reactors require a CO₂ bottle, a regulator, a solenoid valve, and a bubble counter (sold separately). The water supply can be done by branching from an existing return pump or through a dosing pump designed for continuous operation.
Designed for reef enthusiasts, the Deltec PF Series calcium reactors ensure exemplary ionic stability, promoting the growth and health of the most sensitive calcifying corals.
