The Trichogaster trichopterus is also commonly known as the Gourami. This beautiful fish from Asia, with an ovoid shape, has very beautiful stripes on its body. This fish can be blue, yellow, or red in color. The Trichogaster trichopterus also has two barbels under its head. These allow it to adjust its direction, sense touch, and also gauge the distance of obstacles it encounters. In your tank, it is preferable to introduce the Trichogaster trichopterus as a pair.
The adequate water temperature in an aquarium for this specimen ranges between 22° and 26°C. The ideal pH for breeding this species is between 6.8 and 7.2. The minimum recommended volume to maintain the Gourami is 200 L.
