The Lemon Tetra, native to the freshwater of Brazil, swims in schools at mid-depth. Rather discreet, it tends to hide in the presence of more imposing tank mates. Its small size of about 5 cm fosters this behavior. This specimen follows an omnivorous diet. Preferring soils composed of humus and sand, it favors areas rich in vegetation.
In an aquarium, the minimum required capacity for this fish is 100 L. The recommended temperature ranges between 23° and 28°. The pH should be close to 7. The minimum recommended population is 10 individuals, as the schooling behavior of this species should be respected. Relatively hardy, keeping this fish is accessible to everyone, without significant maintenance difficulties.
