The Paracheirodon simulans, a fish from South America, exhibits a very intense blue stripe in the middle of its body. Often, it can be found in marshy areas in Brazil, Colombia, or Venezuela. This species lives in groups and adopts a diurnal lifestyle. It searches for its food through the vegetation of blackwaters.
To maintain the Paracheirodon simulans, water between 25° and 34° is suitable. The pH should be between 5 and 6. The minimum water volume required for this fish is 80L. We also recommend keeping at least a dozen individuals together to respect the social habits of the species. An environment rich in vegetation is preferable. Despite a peaceful attitude, the group conditions and the stress that solitary specimens may feel are factors that make maintenance more suited to experienced aquarists.
