The Angelfish - Pterophyllum scalare is a freshwater fish that lives at a temperature of 24 - 30°C and a pH of 6.0 to 8.0. Its reproduction is possible, and it feeds on worms, crustaceans, and plant matter. To keep it in good conditions, we recommend a group of 5 or more in an aquarium with a minimum length of 100 cm and a capacity of at least 300 L.
This fish originates from South America: Amazon basin, Peru, Colombia, and Brazil. It evolves along the Ucayali, Solimões, and Amazon rivers; rivers of Amapá (Brazil), Rio Oyapock in French Guiana, Essequibo in Guyana. Its approximate size at the time of sale is 3-4 cm. Once adult, this fish can reach up to 20 cm. If you wish to feed it with inert food, consult the suggestion tab below.
