Acid Buffer™ Seachem is an acid buffer designed to lower and stabilize the pH in freshwater aquariums. It allows you to achieve a pH range between 5.0 and 7.0 depending on the dosage used, while reducing the water's alkalinity (KH).

Main Features

Role and Function

Acid Buffer™ works by decreasing the alkaline buffering capacity of the water, which allows for a sustained lowering of the pH. It is particularly suitable for aquariums hosting species that require acidic or low-mineralized water, as well as tanks using reverse osmosis water.

Used alone, it gradually reduces the pH. When used in combination with Alkaline Buffer™, it allows for achieving a precise and stable target pH.

Aquarium Compatibility

Acid Buffer™ is intended exclusively for freshwater aquariums. It is suitable for Amazonian, Asian tanks, and all species requiring an acidic to slightly acidic pH.

It is not recommended for use in marine or reef aquariums.

Dosage and Use

The dosage depends on the initial pH and KH as well as the desired target pH. The product must be dissolved in water before being added to the aquarium.

For a precise and reproducible pH adjustment, it is recommended to use it in conjunction with Alkaline Buffer™ according to the ratios defined by Seachem.

Precautions for Use

Do not add directly to the aquarium without prior dissolution. Make gradual adjustments to avoid any osmotic or chemical stress for the fish. Regular monitoring of pH and KH is essential when using.
