Discus Buffer™ Seachem 50 g – pH and KH Buffer for Discus Aquarium

Discus Buffer™ Seachem is a specially formulated buffer to recreate the ideal water conditions of Amazonian biotopes, particularly for breeding and maintaining discus. It lowers and stabilizes the pH while adjusting the alkalinity (KH) to suitable values.

Main Features

Role and Functioning

Discus Buffer™ is designed to reproduce soft, slightly acidic, and low-buffered water, close to the natural conditions found in the Amazon basin. It acts on both pH and alkalinity to achieve chemically stable and biologically suitable water for discus.

Unlike a simple acidifier, Discus Buffer™ acts in a controlled and reproducible manner, which limits abrupt parameter changes.

Aquarium Compatibility

Discus Buffer™ is exclusively intended for freshwater aquariums. It is particularly recommended for:

• Discus (Symphysodon spp.).
• Amazonian cichlids.
• Freshwater fish requiring acidic pH and low alkalinity.

It is not suitable for marine or reef aquariums.

Dosage and Use

The dosage depends on the initial pH and KH as well as the desired target pH. The product should always be dissolved in water before adding it to the aquarium.

For precise control, it is recommended to start with RO or low-mineral water and then gradually adjust the parameters.

Do not add the product directly in dry form to the aquarium. Make gradual adjustments and regularly check pH and KH to avoid stress for the fish.
