Replenish is a proprietary blend of salts formulated to reintroduce physiologically relevant minerals removed by RO/DI filtration. It restores general hardness (GH) with a balance between so-called soft and hard salts.

Targeted Mineral Composition

Replenish restores GH using a balanced blend of soft salts, including sodium and potassium, and hard salts, including calcium and magnesium. This restoration is essential because fully demineralized water can cause osmotic stress in species adapted to a naturally mineralized environment.

Osmotic Stress and Shock

A lack of minerals in the water can disrupt the osmoregulation of fish. Severe osmotic stress can develop into osmotic shock, potentially leading to rapid mortality. The reintroduction of minerals via Replenish helps maintain an environment compatible with the physiology of fish whose natural habitat is mineralized.

Use in Planted Aquariums

To restore GH in a planted aquarium, the use of Equilibrium is recommended.
