Description

The mechanical filter media retains suspended matter and dirt particles through a progressive process.

As soon as the water enters the filter, EHEIM MECH and EHEIM MECHpro pre-filtration media play an essential role in removing the coarsest impurities before the water continues its cleaning path.

After this stage, EHEIM FIX can be used as a separation layer between mechanical and biological filter media.

For fine filtration at the end of the circuit, just before the water returns to the aquarium, EHEIM SYNTH filter wool is particularly suitable.

Characteristics

EHEIM MECH consists of hollow ceramic bodies specifically designed to retain large dirt particles.

When water passes through these elements, it is put into turbulence, allowing impurities to effectively settle inside the hollow bodies. The pre-filtered water then continues its journey to other filter layers.
