Orange Gorgonian
A soft coral with warm and natural colors
The Orange Gorgonian is a non-photosynthetic gorgonian notable for its bright orange hue and tree-like shape. Its thin and flexible branches sway with the current, creating a lively and fluid presence in the dimly lit areas of the reef.
Ideal for shaded and calm areas
This soft coral does not have zooxanthellae and therefore requires no direct lighting. It perfectly adapts to overhangs, cavities, or side areas of the décor, where few other corals can thrive. It is non-aggressive and easily coexists with LPS, soft corals, or peaceful invertebrates.
Essential feeding
As a non-symbiotic gorgonian, it must be fed regularly with very fine particles: phytoplankton, enriched microfauna, rotifers, or coral powders. When well-fed, its white or translucent polyps spread widely, offering a captivating display.
Lighting and water flow
Avoid intense lighting. Favor moderate to strong water flow to deliver food to the polyps and encourage opening without breaking the branches.

The Orange Gorgonian requires clean and well-oxygenated water:
- Temperature: 24–26 °C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0–8.4
- KH: 7–9 dKH
- Rich in microfauna and fine food
