A flamboyant and delicate red gorgonian
The Diodogorgia nodulifera, also known as the "Finger Red Caribbean" gorgonian, is a remarkable non-photosynthetic gorgonian notable for its uniform bright red color and white or translucent polyps. Its long, thin, feathery branches resemble slender fingers, bringing volume and elegance to the reef décor.
Perfect for low-light areas
This size M specimen is ideal for placement under overhangs, in low or semi-shaded areas. Unlike photosynthetic gorgonians, it does not require lighting but relies entirely on suspended food in the water.
Regular and appropriate feeding
As a zooxanthellae-free species, the Diodogorgia nodulifera must be fed regularly with fine foods: plankton, microfauna, rotifers, phytoplankton, or enriched liquid products. Under optimal conditions, its polyps extend widely with each feeding, offering a lively and captivating display.
Lighting and water flow
Avoid overly strong lights. Prefer moderate to strong water flow to maintain a constant distribution of food in the water column without overly disturbing its delicate branches.
