A wild-inspired ribbon gorgonian
The Pseudopterogorgia spp "Caribbean Ribbon Gorgonian" is a symbiotic photosynthetic gorgonian, easily recognizable by its flat, ribbon-like branches that elegantly sway in the current. Originating from the Caribbean reefs, it showcases a brown-purple to violet hue, highlighted by light, fine polyps regularly arranged along its edges.
A small size for immediate graphic effect
In size S, this gorgonian is perfectly suited for nano-reefs as well as larger tanks. It fits into vertical or lateral areas of the decor, where it provides a light and mobile structure, while creating a gentle and realistic dynamic.
Easy to maintain thanks to photosynthesis
Thanks to its zooxanthellae, the Pseudopterogorgia Ribbon mainly feeds through photosynthesis. It does not require specific feeding but may appreciate additions of phytoplankton or microfauna to encourage polyp opening.
Lighting and water flow
Moderate to strong lighting (120–200 PAR) is recommended to optimize photosynthesis. A gentle to moderate flow is ideal to keep the polyps in constant motion and to prevent any deposits on its flat branches.
